What is triathlon?
Triathlon is a multi-discipline event where people compete against the clock and each other. Swimming, cycling and running with no break except for the transition (this is a quick pit stop to change for the next discipline). All disciplines will take place within the grounds of the hall with a mixture of grass and tarmac surface.
First triathlon?
All you need is a swimming costume or trunks, goggles (not compulsory), a bike (road or mountain bike as long as it is in roadworthy condition), an approved cycle helmet (compulsory) and a pair of trainers.
So go on give it a Tri? You will be given full instructions before the event but in the meantime we have pulled together some additional information here. There will also be regular pre-race briefings aimed at novices.

The event is based at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. DE6 1DR

Race facilities
Ashbourne Leisure Centre has ample toilets, full changing facilities, showers and refreshments. There is plenty of parking within the centre of Ashbourne.
Entry Fee
- Individual entry (BTF affiliated) = £43
- Junior (15-24 BTF affiliated) = £30
- Relay = £51
Additional Fee for non BTF members (Race Pass)
- Juniors (15-24) = £2
- Individual entry including Relay non-members = £8
Pre and post race massage
A massage service will be available pre and post race.
Prizes
All finisher’s will receive a custom Finisher medal.
Prizes will be awarded to:-
- 1st 3 overall (open and women)
- 1st in each 10 year category (if you are a top 3 finisher then you will not be able to claim the AG award)
- 1st Relay team
