Locko Park Triathlon

Locko Park is a privately owned 18th-century country house in between the villages of Stanley and Ockbrook, near Spondon, Derbyshire located 6 miles to the North East of Derby.  Locko Hall (Grade II listed building) is set within the 300 acre estate with the driveway curving around the 16 acre lake 6 feet deep

Locko Park is conveniently situated between Derby & Nottingham, 5 miles from Junction 25 of the M1, 12 miles from East Midlands Airport and 42 miles from Birmingham International Airport.

The swim

The swim will be a 1 lap (750M) swim in the 300-acre lake. The water temperature is expected to be 18-19 degrees C and wetsuits for the event will be mandatory. Swimming hats will be provided and water safety will be in attendance.

The bike

The bike is a fast rolling 21K loop with 199M of elevation gain.

The Run

The 5K run is completely within the estate grounds over a mixture of terrain taking runners past Locko Hall.

The relay Triathlon

Each member of the team completes one discipline using the timing chip as the baton. Teams can be made up of either 2 or 3 members.

Aquabike

An AquaBike is a Swim-Bike format. This will give individuals that are recovering and can’t run the ability to race, athletes that are just training for an upcoming race and choose not tax their legs with the running portion of a triathlon, or people that have just converted into AquaBike athletes and love to swim and bike! The time will be taken on the mat into Transition 2 (T2)

Toilets will be provided on site.

Camping

Camping will be provided for the Saturday night only at a cost of £5 per tent/caravan/motorhome. There will be limited facilities (toilets & running water).

Entry Fee

Triathlon Individual entry (TE affiliated) = £60

Triathlon Individual entry (unaffiliated) = £65 

Aquabike Individual entry (TE affiliated) = £60

Aquabike Individual entry (unaffiliated) = £65 

Relay Team (3 members) = £70 (plus £5 for each unaffiliated athlete)/

Start times – between 8am – 8.30am

There will be various mass starts based on your age-groups starting between 8am and 8.30am or a rolling start if we are to run the event in a Covid-19 compliant manner.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:-

Top 3 overall (male & female)*

Top 3 in each 10 year age-group (20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 (male & female)

1st only in 16-19 and 70+ (male & female)

Overall winners will not be eligible for Age-group prizes

1st Relay team.

1st Club / team

All competitors will receive a finishers t-shirt.

Race rules

The event will be held under the rules of the British Triathlon Federation. As always, your bicycle must be in roadworthy condition and an approved cycle helmet must be worn. A BTF referee will be present throughout the day.
